Samuel Harps can help you begin your entry into the world of performing arts with his Shades Repertory Theater. The theater is being moving to a large space from 64 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY to the Garnerville Artsand Industrial Center, which is located at 55 W. Railroad Ave., Garnerville, NY.

Samuel first broke into the industry with his first major production, Don’t Explain, which was performed at New York’s famed Nuyorican Poet’s Café. The explosive drama on the death of trumpeter Lee Morgan went on to receive seven AUDELCO Awards, including best play and playwright. He also received The Arts Council of Rockland County Executive Award for Literary Artist. Aside from this play, Samuel has played a big part in New York Theatre. His productions include The Paul Roberson Theatre, The National Black Theatre,The Billie Holiday Theatre, Theatre for the New City, Theatre Four, Duality Play house, and HERE Theatre.

With his theatre in Haverstraw, he has helped pave the way for many young hopefuls looking to make their debut in New York Theatre. Samuel Harps is an inspiration with his outstanding work.

The Shades Repertory Theatre will showcase their last season this year with their final show being held on June 24th, 2017.
